1) Cemetery Books
    The Historical Society walked and transcribed every cemetery in Dekalb County in the 1970s.  
    Two books have been updated:
    They are Mt. Carmel, Sycamore (2005) and Oak Ridge, Somonauk (2004).
    This work is published.


2) Atlases of Dekalb County 1871 - 1892 - 1905 - 1929
    11" x 14" hardbound black & white, about 300 pages with an index.
    Includes several county maps and all 19 township maps for all 4 years
    mentioned above. Also includes numerous drawings of important homes
    in and around the township shown, as well as a treasure trove of historical
    information. In all, over 170 maps.




3) Boies History of Dekalb County, 1868
    Henry Boise was editor of the Sycamore True Republican newspaper from
    1863 to 1887. This book contains the history of the Dekalb County Regiments
    and the men who served in the Civil War as well as the history of Dekalb
    County from 1836 to 1868. Reprinted by Dekalb Co. Historical Society.
   



4) Voters and Tax Payers of Dekalb County, 1876
    Voters and Taxpayers of Dekalb County is a biographical directory of those
    taxpayers and voters living in Dekalb Co. between 1870 and 1876 and a
    history of the county and state; map of the county and a business directory
    originally published in 1876 and reprinted by the Dekalb Co. Historical
    Society in 1977. Phyllis Kelley, County Historian and director of the
    Joiner History Room, calls this book her "Bible".

6) Rural School Journeys: A Legacy of Learning
   This beautiful hard-cover 304-page volume contains the histories of the 159
   one-room schools that at one time dotted DeKalb County and features
   over 400 photographs, an appendix of teacher names, and so much more!
  The footnotes and index make it an invaluable research tool for genealogists and historians.
