History

Charter Grove Cemetery is located on Moose Range Road just South of
Base Line Road in the countryside of Sycamore Township. "Divine Dean and his wife Lucinda deeded the land to The Directors of Charter Grove Cemetery and their successors in office, Thomas Marshall, Lorenzo Evans and Divind Dean, Directors, in the Town of Sycamore, County of DeKalb and State of Illinois, to wit: Charter Grove Cemetery as shown by a map thereof prepared by S. T. Armstrong, County Surveyor, dated November 22, 1872 located on Section 3, Township 41, Range 5. Divine Dean Lucinda Dean Book 55 pg. 12." |
