  DeKalb County Poor Farm Information

The DeKalb County Infirmary was originally the home to those who were unable to pay for their own
medical attention. Many had no living relatives and no money and when they died they were interred at the
expense of the county in the DeKalb County Cemetery on the same property. The buildings have been torn
down and the county home is now located on the west side of DeKalb. The cemetery however is still intact
and in fine condition. More information can be found at the following link.
